Reviews and Ratings
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms, while a bit drab and utilitarian, were clean and comfortable. The service, despite being understaffed, was incredibly attentive and sincere. The location was great for our needs, but there were some concerning issues about how the property was managed. The dining experience was good, and the facilities met our needs.
The hotel offers spacious rooms for the price, which got warm quickly, but maintenance was a bit of an issue. The service was exceptional overall but lacked courtesy at times. The location is right in downtown Scranton, with easy access to various venues. The dining experience was satisfying, especially at Carmen's. In terms of facilities, there are some minor drawbacks.
When we checked out, we found that the rooms were quite peculiar, each different from the last in a somewhat hasty construction style. The staff was accommodating, offering useful directions despite not being aware of all the Sunday closures downtown. The location is central, close to various attractions, but surrounded by ongoing construction. The dining options were limited but affordable, and the facilities were adequate.
The hotel is in a convenient location right next to the University of Scranton, making it perfect for our needs. The rooms, though a bit small, were comfortable and well-appointed, but they felt a bit stuffy like they hadn't been opened in months. The staff was wonderful to work with for our event, going above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. However, there was an incident when a staff member entered my room at 10 am without knocking, which was two hours before checkout.
The hotel had very nice and clean rooms, although some were under maintenance and considered mediocre for the price. The service was warm and welcoming, with friendly and attentive staff sharing stories. The location was perfect, close to various attractions, but guests had concerns about charges for parking. Overall, the value for money was appreciated with some areas needing improvement.
The hotel is a mixed bag with some positives like clean rooms and friendly service, but is let down by a persistent bad odor in the old station lobby. The location, although historic and central, feels sketchy at night. Dining at Trax was pleasant despite some issues with prepayment for breakfast.
